CleanSky

Students become young environmental engineers as they design and build a real-time air pollution monitoring device. Combining sensors, Arduino coding, and product design, they create a smart, portable tool that tracks air quality and inspires action toward a cleaner planet.

This engaging STEAM project challenges students to tackle one of today’s most pressing global issues — AIR POLLUTION. Using ProjoTech’s specialized kit (AirCheck), students learn how to measure air quality by integrating a variety of environmental sensors. The heart of the project lies in programming an Arduino microcontroller to collect and display live data on an LCD screen. But the challenge doesn’t stop at coding. Students also apply their creativity and engineering skills to design a sleek, functional enclosure that houses the electronics and enhances the user experience. Through iterative testing and calibration, students ensure their device delivers accurate, real-time results. Along the way, they explore the science behind pollution, its health impacts, and the importance of environmental monitoring. By the end, students won’t just build a device—they’ll create a meaningful solution that connects technology with sustainability and inspires change in their communities
