Students explore bees’ life, anatomy, and behaviors, then create a bilingual educational film to raise awareness about their ecological importance and how we can help protect them.
In this nature-focused STEAM storytelling project, students embark on an engaging journey into the world of bees, uncovering their life cycle, studying their unique anatomy, and examining the complex social structure within a hive. They investigate how bees communicate through dance, navigate using the sun, and their essential role in pollination and ecosystem health. After compiling their research, students craft a clear and engaging storyboard that becomes the foundation for an educational short film. They produce two versions—English and Arabic—featuring voice-over narration, visuals, and animations that bring their learning to life. The film explains bee biology and behavior and raises awareness about environmental threats to bees and what actions humans can take to protect them. This project cultivates scientific curiosity, empathy for nature, media literacy, and presentation skills, all while giving students a voice in advocating for biodiversity and sustainability.
