In this sustainability-driven project, students investigate one of the world’s most precious resources—water—by measuring and analyzing their school’s or home’s water footprint. They develop a custom calculator using Excel or web tools to estimate total water usage from taps, toilets, cleaning, irrigation, and appliances. With the data in hand, students evaluate where water is being wasted and brainstorm solutions to improve efficiency. These include behavior changes, routine maintenance strategies (like fixing leaks), and eco-friendly habits. Students design eye-catching posters with actionable water-saving tips and impactful messages to promote awareness to encourage community participation. The project blends environmental science, math, and visual communication while empowering students to take real action. Through modeling, campaign design, and critical analysis, students strengthen their problem-solving and digital skills and cultivate a lasting sense of responsibility toward water conservation and sustainability.
