STEAM-Park

Students design and build a scaled amusement park using landscape materials and 3D-printed elements. They learn space planning, creative design, and inclusivity while crafting a thrilling, user-friendly park model

In this imaginative and hands-on STEAM project, students step into the shoes of urban planners, engineers, and creative designers to bring their dream amusement park to life. The project begins with exploratory discussions around land use, functionality, and design logic, helping students plan to use space effectively and think critically about the visitor experience. Armed with ProjoTech’s comprehensive building kit (JoyZone), students create a scaled model of an amusement park on a land plate, decorating it with sticky landscape textures such as grass, asphalt, and tiles to define different environments. They enhance their model with trees, benches, and welcome gates, then take it to the next level using ready-to-print 3D models of Ferris wheels, booths, and park seating.

As a special challenge, Gifted & Talented students are encouraged to include inclusive features for visitors of determination, learning how to design with empathy and accessibility in mind. This project combines art, engineering, spatial planning, and social awareness, empowering students to turn their ideas into a realistic and inclusive amusement park that reflects real-world design principles.
